Challenge

Auckland Council required innovative solutions to temporarily close off car parks in a safe manner while maintaining access for maintenance due to the prevalence of Kauri Die Back across the Waitakere Ranges.

Solution

The first part was to install signage to advise of the closures of the car parks and of the kauri die back in the area. A bollard and chain solution with decided on as the optimum solution to close the carparks

Results

The signage was installed and some of the car parks closed of due to a change in scope. This was a fast turnaround project involving extensive project management and contractor coordination. As the lead consulting firm for this project - Parallaxx were charged with overall execution and coordination of all contractors.
