Challenge

Since 2017, significant government funding has bene injected into the development (or redevelopment) of housing particularly in dense residential areas of Auckland. This is managed by Kainga Ora and their appointed alliance contractor - Piritahi Alliance - engaged Parallaxx to provide TMP design, TTM consultancy and Traffic Modelling in support of their numerous projects int he Auckland Region.

Solution

Whilst housing development is mainly offline - numerous network improvements, service upgrades and safety improvements are required on adjacent roadways. An example being Hendon Avenue (Mount Roskill) where major stormwater and wastewater upgrades called for a one-way detour solution on this major connecting road. Parallaxx's Traffic Impact Assessments, TMP design and Road Safety Barrier Design have been a critical supporting element to ensuring this project progresses safely and efficiently.

Results

We have an excellent working relationship with Piritahi and are an important partner to their work in the housing sector. The connection and upgrade works in support of housing development is often forgotten and Parallaxx is a valuable contributor, solving complex TTM problems to keep this project moving.
