Challenge

Widening of Hingaia road with 2 lane each way and a cycle way and upgrade pedestrian routes. It involved full depth pavement reconstruction of the road. Maintaining access was crucial as it is a main road for the area and there is a school right in the middle of the project area.

Solution

2 stage construction methodology was used to complete the project. All traffic and pedestrians shifted to the north and this provided a safe corridor for road users and a safe worksite. Once completed the traffic was switched to the south to completed the final part of the works.

Results

Project in final stages and should be completed by July 2020.
