STMS Universal

The STMS universal workshop provides essential base knowledge for individuals aiming to become Site traffic management specialists (STMS) across Categories A, B, or C road environments or mobile operations. This two-day training equips you with the skills to navigate TTM responsibilities and prepare for further learning blocks.

What You’ll Learn

This workshop covers key aspects of TTM leadership and operations, including:

  • Navigating NZGTTM.
  • Reading and assessing TMPs for site suitability.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing risk.
  • Understanding layout distances and resource planning.
  • Leading TTM crew briefings and checking worksites.
  • Developing leadership skills essential for STMS roles.

What You’ll Achieve

Upon successful completion, you will receive:

  • Unit standard 31961 (STMS-U).
  • A digital certificate of completion, automatically issued upon passing.

  1. Classroom Training: Two full days of expert-led knowledge workshops.
  2. Assessment: Progressive assessments during the workshop ensure you meet qualification standards.

Workshop Prerequisites

There are no required prerequisites are required to enrol in this workshop, however the traffic manager operative (unit standard 31959/unit standard 31960 for practising) is recommended.

Schedule and Duration

  • Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (8 hours per day, including breaks).
  • Days: Weekdays (Weekend workshops available for group bookings).

To enrol, you’ll need one of the following:

  • National Student Number (NZQA RoL)
  • Passport (current)
  • Birth Certificate

Pricing and Payment

  • Cost: $759.00 + GST ($872.85 incl. GST) per person.
  • Payment Options: Credit card or invoice.

Cancellations

  • 1 Working Day Before Course: 50% of course cost refunded.
  • On the Day or No Show: No refund; full course cost applies.
