Risk-based TTM, anchored by the NZGTTM, is fast evolving and increasingly established in contractual environments. For project managers overseeing activity involving TTM, mastering this new approach is critical for safeguarding workers and road users while optimising project efficiency and controlling costs.
This workshop is designed for project managers, construction and infrastructure supervisors, and other decision-makers who include TTM as part of broader project oversight. It is specifically for those responsible for tendering, procurement, contract management, and work methodology, rather than for technical TTM practitioners.
Effective project oversight requires a focus on the safety outcomes TTM offers, and a disiplined approach to commercial and project outcomes. By learning practical, scenario-driven techniques for risk assessment, procurement evaluation, contract management, and assurance, managers can drive tangible improvements in safety outcomes and operational performance where TTM is involved.
The one-day workshop is divided into five modules, each driven by hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios:
Participants will receive a five-page project managers’ workbook summarising each module’s key points, decision models, and case studies. The course emphasises interactive group challenges, individual micro-assessments, and scenario-based exercises so that participants can immediately apply new skills on their projects.
Dave Tilton, with 16 years of multifaceted TTM experience, leads this workshop. As a PhD student in Civil Engineering focused on residual risk in TTM environments, an MBA and Masters in Businnes holder, and a certified expert in contract management, adult teaching, and workplace health and safety, Dave’s industry contributions have helped shape New Zealand’s risk-based TTM framework. His practical, evidence-based approach equips you with strategies that drive safer, cost-effective project outcomes.
